Terms of Service

1. Who we are & acceptance

Woordify (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) is a collaborative storytelling platform operated by an individual founder based in Türkiye. You can reach us at legal@woordify.com. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Writers create and continue stories scene by scene; the community votes which continuations become canon, and complete story lines can grow into screenplay- length works. The Service may use third-party AI to translate and format text.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country (and at least 16). Authentication is handled by our provider (Clerk).

4. Your content & the license you grant

You keep the copyright in the scenes and text you write. By contributing, you grant Woordify a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, translate, format, adapt, and combine your contribution with other contributions, and to distribute the combined story through the Service and its partners. The sublicense right exists so that a story written by many people can actually be shown, translated and distributed as one work — it does not transfer ownership of your scene.

Selling a story is different. A finished story is a joint work of everyone who contributed to it. We will not grant anyone an exclusive licence to a story, or assign rights in it, without asking each contributing writer separately and getting their agreement at that time. Nothing in these Terms gives us that right in advance.

To the extent permitted by law, you authorise the technical uses above that would otherwise touch your moral rights — specifically translation, screenplay formatting, and combination with other writers’ scenes into a single work. You do not waive your right to be named as an author.

Your authorship is preserved: contributions remain timestamped and credited to you. We will not falsely attribute your work to others.

5. Your promises about what you post

You confirm that each scene you submit is your own original work (or that you have all necessary rights to it), that it does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, and that it is not unlawful. You are responsible for your contributions.

If someone brings a claim against us because of content you posted in breach of this section, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result, provided we tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in handling it. This does not apply where the claim arises from our own acts.

6. Reporting content (notice & takedown)

If you believe something on Woordify infringes your rights or breaks the law, email abuse@woordify.com with: a link to the exact scene or story, who you are and how to reach you, what right is affected, and why. We aim to review every report and act within a reasonable time — typically by removing or hiding the content, or by explaining why we did not. The writer affected will be told what was removed and why, and may reply to us. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.

7. Revenue sharing (not live yet)

There are no payouts today. Our intention is that if Woordify ever earns money from a completed story, the net proceeds (after platform fee, costs and taxes) are shared with the writers who built it, in proportion to their measured contribution. The measurement model does not exist yet. We will publish the exact formula, and how team-owned and seed stories are treated, before any money is distributed. Payouts would additionally require a separate payout agreement, identity and tax verification, and a minimum threshold. Nothing here guarantees any story will be sold or that any amount will be earned.

8. Acceptable use

Do not post content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative of minors, or that violates others’ rights. Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape, or abuse the Service, manipulate votes, or run automated accounts. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

9. AI processing

To provide translation and screenplay formatting, scene text may be sent to third-party AI providers for processing. Do not submit content you are not allowed to share for this purpose.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. Licenses you granted for content already incorporated into combined works survive termination to the extent needed to operate and distribute those works.

11. Disclaimers & liability

The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Woordify is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or, if none, a nominal amount).

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and disputes are subject to the courts of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
